Harassment and exertion

In wit, as in any other form of humour, an author tries to create a certain exertion (an intrigue) in his listeners that rises so far as the story continues. Nevertheless, it never reaches the climax. It deceives listener's expectations (a kind of astonishment) and the exertion that had just been intolerable bursts inn laughter. In other words, to achieve a humorous effect through witticisms, a thinker utilizes aggression that later transforms into sympathy and not the other way round. Additionally, being most often applied in political satire, wit very frequently has the nature of black humour and includes aggressive elements. You may wonder how wit (or human at all) can have aggressive contents at all. But it's just like that... For example, malice may be combined with affection and the aggressive component may be suppressed or even lose its power. It happens due to the psychological nature of wit that disposes of emotional delight that might become useless or stir up aggression in the public.
One more wit specification is a part of general humour common core. It comes to the fact that there is no clear-cut boundary between wit and ingenuity. In other words, there are no exact bounds between humour genres themselves. The coarse laughter involving the highest form of possible aggression might be very easily changed into elite-class witticisms. In fact, wit contains a very low degree of aggression that may be detected only through very careful analysis. The example is the presence of salt in a well-prepared dish that would be tasteless without it.
