Models of association

Analyzing the nature of witty effect and laughter as a result, we make a conclusion that smiling may be caused by the expressions, situations, etc that are not in themselves comic. In that case, witty effect is attained through a thread of associations to its source. The thing may be absolutely non-funny by itself but it may lead to the "memory" reaction that acts as a storage battery for a person who has already accumulated the need emotions in past experiences. To start laughing, a person needs at least some time to have his reaction revealed towards this or that literary piece. It is called "seeing a joke". All material we put forward proves a rather complicated nature of wit.
To continue the topic, we bring the opinion of many scholars that people laugh because their emotions have a greater inertia and persistence than their thoughts. It is logical part of the mind that needs certain time for changing direction, but emotions can. They may "change direction" at a moment's notice.
In other words, a person possessing certain memory base can enjoy even the highest form of humour not understanding the jist of the jokes precisely. So, everyone's welcome to overcome witticisms not being a great intellectual.
